50 Cent settles assault case ahead of Diddy Netflix doc

Rapper 50 Cent has settled a civil assault lawsuit.

The settlement comes just days before Netflix releases the documentary he produced about Sean “Diddy” Combs.

The lawsuit was filed by Guadalupe de los Santos, who says the incident happened in September 2024.

According to the complaint, 50 Cent, real name Curtis Jackson III, followed De los Santos in his SUV at a stoplight in Los Angeles. People reports.

The front passenger door of the SUV opened “suddenly and forcefully” and struck De los Santos, causing him to fall from his scooter, the complaint said.

The plaintiff alleged that the act was committed at Jackson’s direction and sought damages for assault, battery, emotional distress and negligence.

Originally filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court, the case was later moved to the U.S. District Court for the Central District of Florida. Jackson had filed a motion to dismiss, with a hearing scheduled for December 22.

However, the two sides reached an agreement in principle on November 25 and are finalizing a formal settlement.

The timing coincides with the upcoming release of Sean Combs: The Reckoning, a four-part Netflix docuseries produced by Jackson.

The series, premiering on December 2, looks at Diddy’s rise in music and the criminal world around him following his federal convictions.
