Rapper YTB Fatt is alive and unharmed after rumors of his death quickly spread on social media, his family and associates said Wednesday.
The artist, whose real name is Cavon Deshawn Paige, was not injured in a shooting while a music video was being filmed at his grandmother’s home in the West Memphis area, according to statements from his brother, known as Pimp K, and his manager.
Family members confirmed that the rapper’s sister was shot and injured in the incident. She is reportedly undergoing medical treatment. Viral posts on platforms including X, Instagram and TikTok claimed that the 24-year-old Arkansas-born rapper had been shot and killed, sparking widespread concern among fans.
These reports were quickly debunked by close associates who described the claims as false.
No arrests have been reported in connection with the shooting. Police in the Memphis area have not issued an official statement.
