Outspoken journalist Piers Morgan has responded to Blake Lively’s statement, which she released after losing her legal case against co-star Justin Baldoni.
A US judge has dismissed harassment charges brought by actor Blake Lively against co-star Justin Baldoni that were at the heart of the explosive public feud between the two, a court filing showed.
Manhattan federal Judge Lewis Liman also dismissed Lively’s defamation and conspiracy claims on Thursday, but her claims of retaliation and breach of contract against Baldoni still stand as the May 18 civil trial approaches.
Lively had filed a complaint against Baldoni and producer Jamey Heath for alleged inappropriate behavior and comments during the filming of the romantic drama “It Ends with Us.”
Following the setback, Blake Lively reaffirmed her intention to take legal action against co-star Justin Baldoni, even after a major harassment claim in her lawsuit was dismissed, stating that she “will not be distracted by the digital soap opera.”
In the statement shared to her Instagram Stories, Lively said she remains committed to justice, and that the case will now go to trial on May 18 in New York.
“I will never stop doing my part in the fight to expose the systems and people that seek to harm, shame, silence and exact revenge on the victims,” she wrote, adding: “I know it is a privilege to be able to stand up. I will not waste it.”
Piers Morgan shared the screenshot of the statement and tweeted: “I’ve read a lot of laughably insincere celebrities in my time, but this statement from Blake Lively takes the proverbial cookie.”
Morgan continued, “She’s destroying her brand with this ridiculous thing and is now limited to playing ‘I’m doing it for the children of the world!’ card. Pathetic.”
