Lena Dunham has been living in London with her husband Luis Felber for a few years.
In her final confessional with the Guardian In the newspaper, the American star admitted that she has found peace and tranquility in her new home base, Great Britain.
The 39-year-old star told the publication about her definition of happiness: “It means that when things happen, I am able to deal with them.”
“I am able to express my own needs, boundaries and demands,” she continued.
Dunham also shared that happiness for her is no longer about the heights of fame, but about the strength of her internal boundaries.
“I go to work regularly, but not in a way that destroys me. I have great, really supportive people around me. It sometimes makes me sad that such a major reshuffle was necessary.”
Additionally, she reflected on her struggle with dealing with the fame and attention that came her way during her younger years since she was the creator, writer and star of the HBO series. Girls. Her show premiered in 2012.
Lena commented: “If all the girls had appeared when I was a fully formed person, at the age of 33, I would have understood how to deal with that work, that place, those gifts, those people in a different way.”
