Cristiano Ronaldo leads Al-Nassr to a new club record with 14th win in a row

Al-Nassr defeated Al-Okhdood 2-0 to move five points clear at the top of the Saudi Pro League standings. Cristiano Ronaldo opened the scoring in the 15th minute.

The intriguing match ended with Joao Felix securing victory by firing home a rebound in the second half. Meanwhile, the win marked a new club record of 13 consecutive league wins and equaled a club record of eight straight wins. Al-Nasr have now won all six of their first six league matches against Al-Okhdood, a feat they have otherwise only achieved against Al-Shoalah.

Ronaldo broke the deadlock in the 15th minute, strolling to Nawaf Boushal’s lay-off spot and firing in an unstoppable low effort. Al Nassr were unable to immediately increase their lead despite continuing to dominate the match. Ronaldo shot narrowly wide of target before being replaced in the 81st minute; by then, kissing two goals was more than enough to guarantee further victory.

In line with Jorge Jesus’ milestone, the manager maintained a perfect 100% win record against Al-Okhdood. It is striking that his teams have never conceded a goal against them in the competition. Earlier, Al-Nassr had Mohamed Simakan’s goal disallowed for handball and saw several close attempts from Kingley Coman and Ronaldo throughout the match.
