Eamonn Holmes is said to be “on the road to recovery” after suffering a stroke.
On April 11 it was announced that the GB News The presenter was admitted to hospital after falling ill last week and a friend told how his partner Katie Alexander was a constant presence at his bedside.
The friend told me The sun in the Sunday newspaper: “It has been a terrifying time. Eamonn fell ill at home and those close to him have been concerned ever since.”
“Thankfully Eamonn is on the road to recovery. Katie has been by his side in hospital for pretty much the entire time, apart from getting clean clothes at home,” the friend revealed.
“She loves him dearly and is doing everything she can to help. Everyone is just praying that he will be home soon,” he further said.
While another friend said: “Katie has been praying for Eamonn every day. She is beside herself after an incredibly emotional and rollercoaster week.”
“She has been going to church to pray in solitude. She is a devout Christian and is in shock after spending so much quality time with Eamonn over the Easter weekend,” they revealed.
A spokesperson for GB News stated that Eamonn had asked for “privacy” while he recovered and explained that he will return to the channel’s breakfast show, which he co-hosts with Ellie Costello, when he is “ready”.
They said at the time: “Eamonn has asked for privacy as he focuses on getting better. His colleagues and everyone at GB News wish him a speedy recovery and look forward to welcoming him back to the people’s channel when he is ready to return.”
