Dolly Martinez, My 600 pound life star, died at the age of 30.
Her death was announced by her sister Lindsey Cooper, who wrote in a Facebook post: “It is with a heavy heart that I share the passing of my beautiful sister.”
Cooper continued, “Dolly had the brightest personality that she could light up any room with her laughter, her kindness and her loving spirit. She had a way of making everyone feel special, and her warmth will stay with us forever.”
“Although our hearts are broken here, I take comfort in knowing that she is now reunited with our father in Heaven. I can only imagine the joy of that reunion. Rest in peace, Dolly. You will always be loved, always missed and never forgotten,” her message further read.
The tragic update comes days after Cooper posted an update on Friday, asking fans to send their thoughts and prayers following Martinez’s hospitalization.
“Today is National Siblings Day and it was certainly a tough day,” she wrote via Facebook. “I haven’t made a single post or left much up [people] I know, but my sister Dolly is in the hospital fighting for her life. At this time, I ask for prayers and privacy as we navigate this difficult time as a family.”
Martinez was known for her appearance on season 10 of the hit reality show, My 600 pound lifedocumenting the lives of people weighing over 600 pounds as they struggle to lose weight and possibly even undergo surgery.
In her 2021 episode, Martinez weighed just under 593 pounds and relied on supplemental oxygen to breathe properly.
She was shown meeting with the show’s bariatric surgeon, Dr. Now and after the episode, she moved to Houston to be closer to the surgeon’s office. She ended up losing 40 pounds on the show and was not approved for the weight loss procedure.
Martinez is the latest in a long line My 600 pound life subjects who have died after their appearance on the show.
Among those who have died after documenting their weight loss efforts are Gina Krasley, who died in 2021 at age 30, Larry Myers Jr., who died in 2023 at age 48, Latonya Pottain, who died in 2025 at age 40, and Pauline Potter, who died that same year at age 62.
