Rich Eisen returns to ESPN’s SportsCenter for the first time in more than two decades, marking a nostalgic moment for the veteran broadcaster.
According to a press release from ESPN, Eisen will host the midnight edition of the program from Sunday through Monday from the network’s studios in Bristol, Connecticut.
The appearance will mark his second return to SportsCenter and his first time as host in Bristol in more than two decades.
Eisen, who rose to fame during his original appearance on the show from 1996 to 2003, said he is looking forward to being back.
“I’m excited to return to my old stomping grounds to host a good old fashioned SportsCenter on such a big sports night, just like the old days,” he said.
“I’m so happy to have that opportunity and can’t wait to get back in the chair. Plus, my BlackBerry charger has been missing for forever and I’m hoping I might have left it there somewhere.”
During his earlier run, Eisen regularly co-hosted with the late Stuart Scott.
After leaving ESPN in 2003, Eisen joined the NFL Network, where he remains a key contributor. He currently hosts The Rich Eisen Show and covers major NFL events, including the draft and regular season games.
