KATSEYE and ‘KPop Demon Hunters’ stars team up for Coachella

Stars of KPop Demon Hunters joined KATSEYE at Coachella this weekend for a hit performance Golden.

The Los Angeles girl group made their debut at the festival on Friday and surprised fans during the finale when they started singing the breakout song from the Netflix animated film.

They were soon joined on stage by stars EJAE, Audrey Nuna and Rei Ami, who provide the singing voices of the fictional band HUNTR/X.

“It’s truly an honor to perform with KATSEYE, guys!” EJAE said on stage after the performance.

KPop Demon Hunters follows the band, who act as demon hunters and battle rival boy band The Saja Boys, who are secretly demons.

The film became a huge hit after its release last year, becoming the most streamed film in Netflix history, with a sequel also in the works.

EJAE, Audrey Nuna and Rei Ami recently performed Golden at the BAFTAs and Oscars, while the film won Best Animated Feature and Best Original Song at the latter ceremony.

In other news, earlier this year it was confirmed that KATSEYE member Manon was taking a “temporary hiatus” from the group, with her future unclear as she did not perform with the band at Coachella.

Additionally, she removed the band’s name from her Instagram bio and was also absent from the teaser of their latest single, Little finger up.

Addressing her hiatus earlier this month, Manon thanked fans “for all the love and support you sent my way.”

“I am very grateful for the patience and kindness shown by everyone during this time,” she added on Weverse. “HxG and I are having positive conversations and I feel supported. I am happy and I am healthy. I will share more soon. Thank you for always being there for me.”
