Michael Che shouted Kevin Hart’s roast for jokes about ‘slavery’, ‘s*x crimes’ and ‘insults’.
The 42 year old Saturday evening live star didn’t appear at the live Netflix event this weekend, but he has noticed a difference in style between the subject matter for white and black people.
On Instagram he wrote: “White men and black people make different jokes. Black men say ‘look at these n**** shoes!'”
“White Roasts are like, ‘Slavery, math, murdered teens, sex crimes, slander, family secrets.’ White men don’t care about their shoes,” he ranted.
In a later post, he highlighted the number of white writers involved in Sunday. May 11, roast.
He joked, “Let’s do a roast to celebrate the career of the most successful black comic character of the past decade.”
“I love that! Who should we get to write it?” Michael exclaimed.
The next slide of his post was a photo of some of the white writers involved, including Nick Mullen, JP McDade, Mike Lawrence, Dan St. Germain, and Zac Amico.
The broadcast featured 17 well-known writers, several of whom are black.
Although he didn’t mention any comics, there were some sharp jokes made during the roast.
Shane Gillis referenced slavery and lynching in jokes about Kevin Hart’s height, while Tony Hinchcliffe was criticized online for a joke about George Floyd.
