While Inde Navarrette receives rave reviews for her performance in Obsession online, she stays away from social media.
Speak with People magazinethe actress shared that both she and her mother are carefully limiting how much online feedback she sees for her film, adding, “because it’s the beginning of a new process and a new step in my career and I really want to make sure I protect myself first, while also thanking everyone who loves the film.”
She noted that she doesn’t see anything on social media unless “it’s sent to me by a family member or my team.”
“And then also what I get in person, I can physically see that person, receive what he or she is saying and say ‘thank you’ directly to him or her,” Navarrette said.
Additionally, Navarrette said of the positive reviews, “It obviously makes me feel very proud, because I put everything I could into this character.”
“I just remembered… Fuck it. There’s a quote: ‘To get something you’ve never had, you have to do something you’ve never done.’ And I knew I wanted to break away from the roles I had in the past,” she added.
I commented, “I knew I was going to do everything humanly possible and I was going to have so much fun doing it because there are so many aspects of being a person and being a girl and everything that you can’t show. And I thought, ‘You’re going to see.'”
Inde Navarrette said she feels “really good” about the feedback because “it’s obviously such a vulnerable thing to do.”
