Kim Kardashian and Kris Jenner reportedly brought a defamation against Ray J after his allegations.
Kardashians’ lawyer Alex Spiro has brought a lawsuit on behalf of the mother-daughter duo after Kim’s former boyfriend claimed that racketeering charges against the famous family would be ‘appropriate’, per PEOPLE.
It is relevant to mention that this is the first time that Kim and Kris have sued someone due to defamation.
“Kris Jenner and Kim Kardashian have never introduced a defamation claim, nor have they been distracted by noise, but this false and serious statement did not show a choice,” Alex said in a press statement to the outlet.
Last month Ray J claimed that the federal investigation of the racketeering had started against the Kardashians during a live stream.
In the documents, the lawyer took from Kardashians after Ray J and called it “most malignant defamatory behavior”.
“He has dealt with a persistent campaign of intimidation and defamation” against Kim and Kris “for more than two decades”.
“Unable to accept the end of his volatile relationship with Mrs. Kardashian more than twenty years ago, Ray J repeatedly tried to attach himself to the names of the claimants and to use their fame for personal gain,” Alex stated in the submission, referring to the relationship of the Skims founder with the musician in the years 2000.
“The public statements of Ray J are clearly incorrect. There is no such federal investigation,” the statement continued.
Alex further said: “No law enforcement agency has started criminal procedures or investigations with regard to racketeering commits against Kim and Kris and no credible evidence supports this inflammatory allegations.”
Before concluding, he added: “Ray J’s publication of these serious criminal accusations without any attempted verification from legitimate law enforcement sources forms reckless contempt for truth among the actual evil standard.”
