Kerry Katona revealed she was once warned to keep her distance from Katie Price as she reflected on the early days of their friendship.
Kerry and Katie are currently touring the UK with a show entitled An evening with Katie Price and Kerry Katonawhere they answer fan questions and share stories from their lives.
The pair first met more than two decades ago in 2004 and were last seen together as the wicked stepsisters in pantomime last year.
Speaking to the Daily mail Kerry admitted that people had warned her to stay away from Katie, but she ignored them because she wanted to support her friend.
Kerry, 45, explained: ‘People said, ‘Don’t touch Kate. Don’t go near her.’ What’s wrong with them? “I’ve been where Kate has been. I’ve done the drugs, divorces, bankruptcies. Our lives are very mirrored. Why wouldn’t I support her? No one supported me.’
Kerry also admitted that she sees a very different version of Katie today than she used to.
She said: ‘Kate is not vulnerable. She is the strongest woman I know. She’s also more down-to-earth, more together than anyone would give her credit for. And she will get her empire back. I’m in awe of her.’
This comes after Katie recently apologized to Myleene Klass for mocking her MBE.
Katie had previously called Myleene a ‘clone’ and suggested she was only getting credit for playing the ‘classical piano’, while criticizing the TV industry as ‘corrupt’.
However, Katie later clarified that she was unaware that Myleene was actually being given the honor for being a strong voice for women who have experienced miscarriage and for her work in women’s health.
