‘Stranger Things’ creator warns fans not to do this before watching season five

Ross Duffer tells fans to turn off ‘garbage’ TV settings for season five of ‘Stranger Things’

Before the Stranger things Season five premiere series co-creator Ross Duffer has some advice for fans on how to watch it.

“A little PSA before you watch tonight. I want to make sure your TVs are set up properly,” he wrote on Instagram.

By setting up the TV, Ross means turning off the ‘garbage’ options, including dynamic contrast, super resolution, edge enhancement and color filter.

In addition to these settings, the creator also advises fans to turn off noise cancellation and real and smooth motion, describing them as the biggest “offenders” as he says they add “the dreaded soap opera effect.”

“Whatever you do, don’t set anything to ‘vivid’ because that will turn on all the worst offenders. It will destroy the color, and that’s not the filmmaker’s intention,” Ross notes.

Stranger things season 5, part 1, is streaming on Netflix.
