Scarlett Johansson is getting honest about why she and her husband Colin Jost haven’t revealed their firstborn’s name.
In a recent chat on Today, the Black widow star revealed to host Jenna Bush Hager that she purposefully didn’t share her now four-year-old son Cosmo’s name publicly to avoid negative feedback.
“I didn’t want a weird face,” she explained. “You know, when you tell someone, and they say, ‘Oh, that’s different.'”
Scarlett made a surprised face and joked: “What’s going on there? I don’t like it.”
The Rebirth of the Jurassic World star admitted that she could not stand negative comments during pregnancy.
“When you wear, you think, ‘I’m not here for this,’” Scarlett noted. ‘I don’t want your opinion.
Luckily, her mother, Malanie Sloan, liked Cosmo’s name and it was a big relief for Scarlett.
“My mom loved it, which was like, ‘phew,’” she explained. “She said, ‘Oh, my crush in third grade was named Cosmo.’ It had great meaning to her.”
But Colin’s mother, Kerry Kelly, apparently didn’t know the name.
“A few days after she went, ‘Cosimo is a name I can find,'” Scarlett looked back. “That’s a recognizable name. I thought, ‘We’re not just going to insert an ‘I’, this is what it is.'”
It is pertinent to mention that Scarlett is also mother to 11-year-old daughter Rose, whom she shares with ex-partner Romain Dauriac.
