Finding her edge star Madelyn Keys reflects on filming steamy scenes with her costar, Olly Atkins.
In the figure skating show, Keys plays Adriana Russo, Olly plays her first love Freddie O’Connell, while Cale Ambrozic plays Adriana’s fake boyfriend and skating partner, Brayden Elliot.
“Ollie and I also have a pretty steamy scene together. It’s split into two separate scenes in the show, but we shot it all together as one scene, so each take was eight minutes,” Keys shared. The mirror VS.
“The whole thing was lit by candles, and unlike a normal set, it was just us in the room and a camera, as opposed to the dozens of people usually there,” she explained.
She went on to praise the show’s intimacy coordinator, as well as “all the intimacy coordinators working everywhere,” saying, “They make it, you know, safe, comfortable and enjoyable for everyone, which makes it easier.” There is no stress in such situations.’
She also emphasized that actors need to trust each other and communicate about such scenes: “Ask your fellow actors if they feel uncomfortable with something, or want something specific from you. And make sure you do that in a safe environment.”
She also opened up about having to skate with Cale right after they met.
“The first time we met, we were learning the choreography for the train dance scene in Episode 2, which can get a little sensual, and it was like, ‘Hey, nice to meet you. I’m going to be so close to your face right now. I hope I got a mint,'” she joked.
