Natalie Portman’s kids don’t like watching her big screen roles, including the iconic ones Star Wars movies, and she “appreciates” the reason behind them.
The 44-year-old actress, who shares son Aleph, 14, and daughter Amelia, eight, with her ex-husband, Benjamin Millepied, revealed that her children are not interested in seeing her films.
The Avengers: Endgame actress said E! News bee The gallerist premiering at Sundance: “My kids are so resistant to seeing anything I’m in.”
“I always thought, ‘Yeah, if you want to see it, or some of your friends have seen it or something.’ And they said, ‘No, thanks.’
Portman revealed that the reason behind this is because her children just want to see the Oscar winner, just like their mother.
“They just want to see me for who I am, which I appreciate,” she added.

She revealed this in an earlier conversation with People how the children’s film, which recently received an Oscar nomination, is recognizable for its children.
Natalie shared the film’s futuristic subject matter. “It generated so many interesting conversations, from why the parents are holograms and not at home, to of course the climate challenges the kids face, to some of the solutions the kids come up with, like ‘Is that really possible in life, living on platforms above the Earth to rest the Earth?’
“These kinds of things are great conversations I have with the kids because of the movie.”
The doting mother-of-two added: “The story dealt with very pressing issues and provided so much inspiration, hope and encouragement of children’s imaginations.”
“I think it takes children very seriously. There’s no attempt to cover things up. Children are going through all these experiences now, and I think it should be spoken to with a lot of respect,” she noted.
