Kristen Stewart is next in the list of celebrities leaving the US due to the Trump administration.
Stewart spoke about her reasons for leaving in a recent interview The Times of London, saying, “Reality is completely collapsing under Trump. But we must take a page from his book and create the reality we want to live in.”
When asked if she would stay if that doesn’t happen and he continues to preside over the country, the Twilight star said: “Probably not. I can’t work there freely. But I don’t want to give up completely. I would like to make films in Europe and then shove them down the throats of the American people.”
Among the notable celebrities who left the country during Trump’s second presidency are Ellen DeGeneres, Rosie O’Donnell, Oscar-winning James Cameron, Robin Wright and more.
Cameron originally moved to New Zealand to film the Avatar films, but found it better than the US. He recently announced that he has no plans to move back to the United States.
“After the pandemic hit… [New Zealand] had completely eliminated the virus,” Cameron said on a recent episode of In Depth with Graham Bensinger.
“They actually eliminated the virus twice. When it showed up for the third time in a mutated form, it made a breakthrough. But luckily they already had a vaccination rate of 98%. This is why I love New Zealand. “People there are healthy for the most part, unlike the United States, where you had a 62% vaccination rate, and that’s going down – in the wrong direction,” he explained.
“Where would you rather live?” Cameron continued. “A place that actually believes in science and is healthy and where people can work cohesively towards a common goal, or a place where everyone is at each other’s throats, extremely polarized, turns their backs on science and would actually be in total disarray if another pandemic were to appear… I’m not there for the landscape, I’m there for common sense.”
