Kelly Reilly Gives an Honest Look at the End of ‘Yellowstone’

Yellowstone spinoffs and prequels will continue the legacy of the Dutton family, but fans and cast member Kelly Reilly are unhappy with how the hit show ended.

Yellowstone‘s fifth and final season faced turmoil when star Kevin Costner couldn’t agree on terms and left mid-season. The rest of the season focused on the unexpected murder of his character John Dutton.

In an interview with The Sunday timesReilly shared her thoughts on the ending, saying, “It’s a shame”.

“[It’s] Too bad it ended like that, but it did. [If] We just had a beer, I could share more,” she told the interviewer.

“But yeah, it was only going to last five years… It was successful… A life of its own,” she noted.

The actress, who played Beth on the show, continued to hint at more backstage drama

“I’m just choosing my words because I’ve never really talked about it,” she revealed.

She said: “There was a lot going on behind the scenes that had nothing to do with me; I was just waiting. ‘When are we going back to work?'”

Beth and her partner Rip Wheeler (Cole Hauser) decided to live a peaceful life at The Dutton Ranch late last year. Yellowstone. Now, the duo is getting their spin-off show, titled The Dutton Ranchwhich will portray a “different era” for them, according to Reilly.

Other Yellowstone include spin-offs Marshals And The Madisonwith prequels 1883 And 1923 already out.
