Pete Davidon reveals the inspiration behind her newborn daughter, nicknamed Scottie Rose.
The 32-year-old comedian recently opened up about his life as a new father Elite daily and shared the rare insight that his daughter’s name and that of girlfriend Elsie Hewitt have a double meaning.
The Saturday evening live The star revealed that his little girl’s name is a tribute to his late father, Scott Matthew Davidson, who lost his life while saving lives during the September 9, 2001 terrorist attack in New York City.
And therefore the name also has a different meaning.
“She was conceived in Scotland,” the proud dad revealed.
Hewitt, who welcomed Scottie in December, said they “went through so many names” but that “Scottie” stood above them all.
The newly minted mother further explained, “We always knew this was the one we would come back to because it was the most meaningful.”
“It’s so cute too,” Hewitt said.
Additionally, Scottie’s middle name, “Rose,” also has a meaning.
Hewitt added, “My middle name is Rose, and both of my sisters’ middle names are also Rose, because Rose was in my mother’s maiden name. So I wanted to have a little special part of them in her name too.”
