Reba McEntire gets emotional ahead of Brandon Blackstock’s Grammy tribute

Reba McEntire will pay ‘special’ tribute to late stepson Brandon Blackstock at the 2026 Grammys.

During the 2026 Grammy Awards’ In Memoriam tribute, the country singer, who was married to Brandon’s father, Narvel Blackstock, for more than two decades, will honor the talent manager with a performance of Pioneer along with Brandy Clark and Lucas Nelson.

She told me E! news on the event’s red carpet: “It’s really special for me because my son is one we’re honoring.”

Reba continued: “He passed away in August, and so Brandon is on stage with Brandy, and me, and Lukas, and the two ladies playing cello and violin, so it’s going to be very special.”

The three-time Grammy-winning artist added, “This will be my favorite memory.”

The 70-year-old artist has always considered Narvel’s children as her own, including Brandon’s siblings Chassidy Blackstock and Shawna Blackstock, even after their divorce in 2015.

“I don’t consider Brandon, Chassidy and Shawna to be stepchildren, I claim them all,” she told The Boot in a previous conversation in 2010.

For those unfamiliar, Brandon passed away in August 2025 after a three-year battle with cancer.
