Katy Perry’s ex-husband Russell Brand took aim at her new boyfriend Justin Trudeau.
Brand recently attended a politically conservative Turning Point USA event where he called Canada’s former prime minister a “globalist stooge.”
For those who don’t know, Perry and the 50-year-old English comedian, actor, podcaster and media personality were married from 2010 to 2012.
In 2016, the California Gurl hitmaker started dating Orlando Bloom after meeting him at the Golden Globes after-party. They announced their engagement in 2019, welcomed their child together, a daughter named Daisy Dove Bloom, in 2020, and split in June 2025.
Perry and Trudeau were romantically linked shortly after her breakup with Bloom, as they were seen together in several places; However, they confirmed their relationship by becoming Instagram official in December 2025.
Referring to her mother, Mary Perry, Brand joked, “Look, Katy Perry, I was married to her. I still love her, and I’m glad her mother is in the room to hear me say this.”
“But look. I was okay with Orlando Bloom, but Justin Trudeau? Come on, man! Don’t put me in a category with that guy! That globalist stooge,” he noted, adding, “Okay, praise Jesus.”
