Chappell Roan expresses outrage over her 2026 Grammy look: ‘Really nice’

Chappell Roan has finally spoken after facing backlash over her 2026 Grammy look.

The 27-year-old American singer-songwriter attended this year’s Grammy Awards in a trompe l’oeil dress designed by Thierry Mugler, consisting of a skin-colored bodice with fake nipple piercings and intricate tattoos.

Roan’s custom outfit, which included a matching cape, consisted of sheer burgundy fabric, from the fake piercings to the floor. The inspiration was taken from Thierry Mugler’s couture collection “Jeu de Paume” from the spring of 1998.

With the help of her longtime stylist Genesis Webb, she also wore fine gold jewelry from Buccellati to complete her look.

After the Guilty pleasure hitmaker walked the red carpet, her appearance becoming one of the talking points at this year’s ceremony.

She isn’t bothered by all the talk, though, as she posted a carousel of photos of her appearance to Instagram on Monday, February 2.

The Grammy winner also added a caption under her post that read, “Giggling because I don’t even think this is that outrageous for an outfit.”

Roan emphasized, “The look is actually so amazing and weird.”

“I recommend just exercising your free will, that’s really fun and crazy. Thanks for having me @grammys and those who voted for me!!” she concluded, showing gratitude to her fans.
