Mark Ruffalo’s relationship with the Marvel Cinematic Universe dates back to 2012, when he first appeared in Dr. Banner/the Hulk stepped in The Avengers.
So, it is expected that fans will be shocked when rumors spread that the studio had fired him due to his critical comments about President Donald Trump.
“I’m not feeling great,” he said at the Golden Globes ceremony last month. “We have a woman, Renee Good, who was murdered last week.”
“[Trump] is a convicted felon, a convicted rapist. He’s a pedophile. He is the worst human being,” the star said.
But in an interview with The news moment, Ruffalo set the record straight.
When asked about the rumors, he simply says, “Not that I know of. People keep saying, ‘Are you fired?’ Not that I know of!”
He emphasizes that he has a long-standing relationship with Marvel: “I’ll be there as long as they have me, but I have a good relationship with them.”
Here, the Oscar-nominated actor hints at his future in the franchise. ‘Who knows, there may be things I already do [Laughs] I’m close, let me just say that.”
His comments are expected to spark speculation as he previously said he will not appear Avengers: Doomsday.
But Ruffalo will be reprising the Hulk Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which debuts on July 31st.
