Karla Souza, known for her role as Laurel Castillo in How to get away with murder has opened up about her ABC show co-stars
Speak with People magazine at the Los Angeles premiere of her latest project, 56 days Souza recently shared which of her former castmates she still keeps in touch with.
The actress said, “Michaela, yes. Aja [Naomi King] is my boo.”
Adding, “I love her so much.”
Souza added, “She’s my sister and I don’t have that many friends in the industry.”
She also admitted that Naomi King is “one of the few moms in this industry who is married,” noting King, who she “can relate to in so many ways.”
“But she’s just a great cheerleader in my struggles as a person. And that’s why I love reaching out to her,” Souza said.
On the other hand, Souza also noted that she is also in touch with Jack Falahee, who played Connor Walsh, and Viola Davis, who played Professor Annalize Keating.
Souza said, “Viola, we send emails every now and then to catch up on our lives, especially our children. And our faith. We really have a faith relationship with each other.’
“So our husbands are very similar. Julius [Tennon] looks a lot like my husband, and so we laugh about that,” she added.
Now Souza plays the role of Lee Reardon, a determined investigator with her own secrets 56 days.
About her role, Karla Souza said, “Once I found out, not only is the detective going to discover the plot of the murder in the show, but she also has secrets to discover as she discovers the murder.”
“That’s what really caught my attention,” she noted.
