A$AP Rocky is celebrating a major career moment and credits Rihanna for inspiring it.
The rapper received the CFDA Fashion Icon Award on November 3 and while accepting the honor, he took a moment to thank Rihanna, who was in the audience to support him.
He told her, “Baby girl, I love you, boo,” and reminded her of a promise he once made.
He remembered telling her years ago, “Yo, you inspire me. I’m gonna win that s— someday. Any prize, remember that s—? And look, we did it, baby!”
His excitement drew cheers from the audience as he proudly held up the award.
The evening also doubled as date night for the couple, who walked the red carpet at the American Museum of Natural History in New York City.
Rihanna kept the look understated and elegant in a floor-length black Alaïa trench, cinched at the waist, a black turtleneck and draped white trousers with heels in them. She called her outfit a “postpartum-forward look.”
Rocky wore a Chanel suit with rolled white cuffs, a butter yellow V-neck sweater and cream Chanel shoes with black tips. He paired the look with layered vintage diamond pieces, an opal brooch and classic gold jewelry.
The pair, who first bonded more than 10 years ago, confirmed their relationship in 2020.
Since then, they have welcomed three children: sons RZA, 3½, and Riot, 2, and most recently a daughter, Rocki Irish, born in September.
Rocky recently said that Rocki is the best thing he’s done this year.

Rocky also sparked new marriage speculation. In an interview published on October 29, he described life at home as a matter of “being a father, a partner and a loving husband in my family.”
He talked about how family and creativity keep him grounded. His wording fueled assumptions, especially after a similar hint in September, when he teased his relationship status by asking, “How do you know I’m not a husband yet?”
At the time, he refused to confirm anything, saying only: “I’m still not going to confirm it.”
Rihanna, who won the same CFDA award in 2014, remains his biggest inspiration, and judging from his speech, this milestone felt like something they earned together.
