Abbas Afridi blasts six on every delivery in one over

Pakistan captain Abbas Afridi inaugurated the 2025 Hong Kong Sixes on Friday, hitting six consecutive sixes in one over to take his side to a last-ball, four-wicket victory over Kuwait.

Set 123, Pakistan reached 124 on the last delivery. Afridi scored an unbeaten 55 from just twelve balls, clearing the ropes eight times, including the over of sixes that turned the chase around.

Shahid Aziz provided clutch support with 23 unbeaten five balls to seal a breathless finish.

Earlier, batting first, Kuwait started strongly with opener Adnan Idrees hitting 17 off eight balls, including two sixes. Afridi struck in the second over to dismiss Idrees, reducing Kuwait to 23-1.

Bilal Tahir responded with consecutive sixes to make it 35-1.

Mohammad Shahzad’s third over produced 31 runs as Meet Bhavsar continued his aggressive innings to take Kuwait past 50 to 66-1.

Abdul Samad conceded 22 runs in the fourth over while Bhavsar hit three sixes and a four to take Kuwait to 88-1.

Maaz Sadaqat then claimed Bilal Tahir for 24 from six balls, and Usman Patel joined Bhavsar to take Kuwait past 100 with a six, four and a single in the fifth over.

Afridi bowled the final over and conceded 39 runs, including two sixes and a four from Usman Patel.
