Alison Arngrim recently opened up and opened up about being hated by fans of House on the Prairie.
During the Little House on the Prairie Final 50th Anniversary Reunion on Friday, December 12, the 63-year-old American actress and author, who played Nellie Oleson on the American-Western historical drama television series, spoke about playing the show’s bully in her early years.
Arngrim also reflected on the negative impact the show had on her career and personal life, as Nellie was famous for her mean comments and abusing everyone at school, including the Ingalls children.
She further stated that her experience with fame was completely different from others on the show because of her character. Fans approached her with anger rather than admiration, as her other co-stars experienced.
The Last place on earth star said: “I didn’t have people saying, ‘Oh, I’m so in love with you. I love you.’ It was, ‘I hate you. I hate you so much. ”
Arngrim revealed that “someone threw an orange soda at my face” when she once walked in a Christmas parade, leaving her with a strong feeling that her character had really struck “some kind of nerve” with viewers.
