Discussing her role in the film where she plays a housewife dealing with mental health issues, Amanda said it was challenging.

“You have to play it as realistically as possible because it has to reflect real life,” she added.

In an earlier conversation with Vanity FaiEarlier in December, Amanda praised Sydney for the way she handled criticism amid fame.

“I’m not jealous of anything she’s going through,” she told the outlet. “I spent a lot of time with her; we hit it off right away. She’s a sweetheart. She’s a very generous, kind person to her core. I have to be honest, I haven’t had a moment like she ever had.”

“[My Mean Girls costar] Lindsay Lohan, we’re friends, and it’s really, really damaging for people to be in the spotlight overnight. Because any press, good or bad, is still a blinding spotlight, and you have to maneuver and negotiate around it and beyond it. It’s acrobatics that I don’t think most people can understand at that age,” Amanda explains.
