Amy Schumer shares the real reason behind major weight loss

Amy Schumer has finally commented on her weight loss.

On Monday, the actress revealed that she didn’t lose 50 pounds to look good, but to “survive” her illness.

Amy posted to Instagram a music video filmed by her son Gene, whom she shares with husband Chris Fischer.

The text accompanying the video clarified questions about Amy’s weight loss journey. She revealed that she does not use Botox or fillers and despite reports suggesting she has lost 30 pounds, she has actually lost 50. “Not to look pretty, which does feel nice and temporary. I did it to survive,” Amy wrote.

Seemingly referring to Cushing’s syndrome, the actress explained, “I had a disease that makes your face extremely swollen and can kill you, but the internet discovered it and the disease is gone.”

“I’m sorry for how it makes you feel that I lost that weight,” she noted.

Additionally, Amy also commented on her perimenopause, which she revealed in 2024, saying, “I’m happy to share if anyone has any questions about how I look or feel, or where I am in my perimenopause process.”

On the other hand, Amy also addressed the speculation surrounding her divorce from husband Chris Fischer. “Whatever happens to Chris has nothing to do with weight loss or autism. Fingers crossed we get through it, he’s the best,” Amy Schumer wrote.
