Well-known Indian singer Asha Bhosle died on Saturday hours after being taken to a hospital, NDTV reports.
The 92-year-old singer had suffered cardiac arrest and received medical care before succumbing to the condition.
Hours before her death, her family revealed in a statement that the reason behind her hospitalization was “extreme exhaustion” and “chest infection.”
“We request you to appreciate our privacy. The treatment is underway and hopefully everything goes well and we will inform you positively,” Bhosle’s granddaughter further wrote in the announcement shared on April 11.
Although details about her condition were limited at the time, some reports indicated that she was in critical condition.
