Punisher has a huge fan base among Marvel fans. They especially like his brutal collaboration with the blind hero of Hell’s Kitchen, Daredevil.
But with season two fast approaching, there are speculations about whether the duo will return to the big screen.
However, it’s bad news for Frank Castle’s avid fans. Although it doesn’t come from the horse’s mouth. Yet a star closely associated with the show confirms this.
Punisher, who is fiercely loyal to his friends and family and a threat to his enemies, will not be part of season two of Daredevil: Born Again.
This was first hinted at by Sana Amanat, who served as the show’s executive producer.
But fans at the time called it a typical Marvel deception to leave them off balance, believing the studio had a surprise in store for them.
But all hopes of starring in Punisher in season two hit a dead end when Vincent D’Onofrio, who plays the infamous Kingpin, dropped the bombshell in his recent interview.
In his typical Wilson Fisk style, he talks about how a scheduling conflict is the reason Bernthal will miss the action of season two.
By planning a clash, D’Onofrio points to the Punisher actor being busy headlining his special, which arrives on May 12, joining forces with the web-slinger hero in Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
“If Jon hadn’t been busy making his own hour-long Punisher movie and dealing with that insect, we definitely would have wanted him to join us in Season 2,” he noted.
Daredevil: Born Again season two will be released on March 24 on Disney+.
