Barry Keoghan has shared new details about his role in the upcoming Netflix film Peaky blinders film, The immortal man.
The film, which sees Cillian Murphy return as Tommy Shelby, will hit theaters on March 6, 2026, before hitting Netflix two weeks later.
While Keoghan’s casting was announced last year, his character had remained a secret until now.
More has now come to light about Keoghan’s role, as he will play the leader of a new generation Peaky blinders in 1940s Birmingham.
A first look has also been released, showing the actor standing opposite a group of men in flat caps.
In a recent interview, Keoghan admitted that he feels the weight of the show’s legacy, especially when it comes to delivering its most famous line.
“I feel like I’m not allowed to say it,” he said Empire magazine from the phrase “On behalf of the Peaky Blinders.”
“It’s such an iconic line,” the Irish actor added.
Keoghan said he had long hoped to be part of the Peaky blinders universe, but that previous opportunities never aligned. “The schemes never worked, or I didn’t fit the description of what they were looking for,” he explained.
That changed when Murphy reached out personally. “I said, ‘Sure, brother. In a heartbeat,'” Keoghan recalled. “Anything to get back to work on yourself.”
The film also introduces new characters, including Rebecca Ferguson as Kaulo, a mysterious figure described as an acquaintance of Tommy Shelby.
