Barry Keoghan may not be the next James Bond.
As fans anticipate who will take over 007’s spy role, the Salt burn actor believes he doesn’t “meet the criteria” to be the one amid speculation.
Barry has apparently put the rumors to rest, noting that he would rather be the villain than take over the “iconic” role.
It is pertinent to mention that the role was previously played by Daniel Craig.
Barry told me Radio times in a recent interview: “(James Bond is) an iconic role and there’s a lot of weight and pressure that comes with it.”
The 33-year-old actor admitted that he was happy to see his name among the stars for the next 007, but he shared that he’s not the one.
“It’s nice to see your name out there, but I don’t think I fit the criteria for James Bond,” Barry noted.
He then jokingly added, “I’d rather come in and do the bad guy.” The man who teases Bond is more like me.’
According to reports, the next installment of James Bond will be filmed at the end of this year, but the name for the next 007 star has not yet been announced.
