Blake Lively’s latest statement shakes up the legal battle with Justin Baldoni

Blake Lively issued a lengthy statement Friday after a judge dismissed her sexual harassment claim against Justin Baldoni.

“I am grateful for the Court’s ruling, which will allow the core of my case to be presented to a jury next month, and for the opportunity to finally tell my story in full at trial, for my own good, but also for those who do not have the same opportunity to… many of whom I have deeply known and loved in my life, and the countless who I will never know,” the 38-year-old actress wrote on her Instagram Stories.

The Another simple favor actress further wrote, “The last thing I wanted in my life was a lawsuit, but I filed this case because of the pervasive retaliation I faced, and continued to do so, because privately and professionally I asked for a safe work environment for myself and others.”

Blake added that while her situation may be seen as dramatic by some, she hopes others going through similar situations can relate to her story.

“The physical pain of digital violence is very real. It is abuse. And it is everywhere. Not just in the news, but in your communities and schools,” she wrote.

Ryan Reynolds’ wife further wrote that digital violence “affects us all,” including women and children.

“So much critical work has already been done to expose systems, tactics, and players that are causing harm. The work to create greater safety is happening in part during the trial, but will continue long after this trial is over. This is the work I am most proud of,” said Blake.

“I couldn’t begin to stand up without the countless people who came before me – and the masses who still stand around us – creating laws, creating social change, sparking conversations, protesting, working both privately and publicly, risking everything and sometimes losing everything for the safety of others in all spaces. Some whose names we know, most we don’t. Thank you. All of you,” continued the Gossip girl alum.

Concluding her message, Blake added that she will “never stop doing my part in the fight to expose the systems and people that seek to harm, shame, silence and exact revenge on victims.”

On April 2, a US judge dismissed 10 of 13 claims Blake filed against Justin in an ongoing legal battle surrounding the film adaptation of their 2024 romantic drama. It ends with usjust six weeks before a trial in Manhattan federal court.
