Bowen Yang bids ‘Saturday Night Live’ goodbye with tears in eyes

Bowen Yang’s Final ‘Tearyful’ Performance on ‘Saturday Night Live’

Bowen Yang has been part of it since 2018 Saturday evening livebut not anymore as the artist is saying goodbye to the sketch comedy show; he has tears in his eyes.

While sharing the stage with Ariana Grande, who hosted the series, he choked up when the latter said to him, “Can I just say how much I loved your line on Wicked?”

“Thanks,” he replied, to which the pop icon said: “You’re welcome.” Which prompted Bowen to add, “No, no, that was my line in the movie: Thank you.”

A day earlier, the 35-year-old shared a lengthy post about his emotions during his time on SNL, thanking his colleagues.

“I loved working at SNL, and most of all, I loved the people. I was there at a time when many things in the world were starting to seem pointless, but working at 30 Rock taught me the value of still showing up when people make it worth it,” he said in a post on Instagram.

He continued, “I’m grateful for every minute of my time there. I learned about myself (bad with wigs). I learned about others (generous, vulnerable, hot). I learned that human error can only be correct. I learned that comedy is mostly logistics and that most of the time it will fail until it doesn’t, which is for the best.”

“Thank you to Lorne for the job, for the standard and for bringing everyone together at work. They all care deeply about the people in the room, any room, having a good time. I can’t believe I was ever involved in that. The show isn’t going on because it’s done, but sh***, I hope I am,” Bowen concluded.
