Boy George has given Chappell Roan a little advice after her recent confrontation with a group of photographers.
For those who don’t know, a video of Roan took the internet by storm this week, in which she asked photographers to “unfollow me” and “harass me.”
The video went viral on the internet and people from all walks of life showed their support for her and George’s name tops the list.
He wrote on social media: “It probably doesn’t help but I’ve been doing this fame thing for a while and you slowly and painfully learn that turning yourself into a bird of paradise doesn’t get you a free pass.”
The British musician went on to say that he ‘watched’ the film Guilty pleasure singer “who filmed the paps in Paris and I laughed because I kicked them off a lot.”
According to George, “The trick is to own your fame. Yes, it’s annoying sometimes, but so is being ignored and told off. [you’re] a ‘has-been’. Life is always now and I think Chappell looks great, but cheer up girl.
“The world is your oyster, stop it! It takes so much more time to say no to a photo or an autograph. Boundaries are boring. Break them with the magic of kindness!” the hitmaker of Electrical energy advised.
It is important to note that this incident occurs after Roan asked a photographer at Netflix to apologize Olivia Rodrigo: GUTS world tour concert in October 2024.
“You were so disrespectful to me at the Grammys. You yelled at me at the Grammy party. I remember you being so rude to me. And I deserve an apology for that. You need to apologize to me,” she demanded at the time.
