Brand New Day’ secret reshoots

Tom Holland reveals that ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ will add additional scenes after the shoot wraps up

Ahead of Spider-Man: Brand New Day, Tom Holland talks about a secret that would put fans on edge.

It’s common knowledge that filming for the franchise’s fourth offering wrapped months ago. Yet that is hardly true.

In a breathtaking tease, Holland says he shot a few extra scenes – related to the film’s villain and humor – in London.

“I can say with certainty that we don’t need the things we do,” he tells GQ, adding: “The film works and sings as it is.”

“We’re just adding icing on the cake in certain areas. We’re finding ways to add a little bit more humor. We’re bringing in a villain storyline in a new way and there’s some really fun stuff in there.”

So expect funnier jokes, sharp twists and a mysterious touch to the villain storyline that will leave fans amazed.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which is already riding on a sky-high hype, will hit theaters on July 31.

Luckily for Holland, he has another potential tentpole film ready to make fans swoon: Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey.

“It’s unlike anything I’ve ever seen before,” he tells GQ magazine. “I think when I saw the movie I asked a question that I haven’t asked about a movie in a long time, which is, ‘How did you do that?'”

In his general praise, Holland mentioned the practical effects Nolan used in The Odyssey, which left him baffled.

“There were certain scenes in the movie where I looked at it and I just thought, ‘How the hell did he do that? That must be CG,'” he adds.

“And when he asked him after the movie, ‘That was definitely CG, right?’ And he goes, ‘No, no, no, those are all in-camera effects. Very planned, very prepared.”

“So I think fans will be really impressed with the set pieces and sequences in the film.”

The Odyssey hits theaters on July 17.
