Tampa Bay Lightning forward Brayden Point left Monday night’s game against the Philadelphia Flyers with an injury and did not return, the team announced.
The injury occurred about five minutes into the second period while the Lightning were in control. During a scramble in front of the Flyers’ net, Point scored on a loose puck to give Tampa Bay a 3-0 lead.
After the goal, Point fell awkwardly and immediately grabbed his knee. He remained on the ice and needed help from teammates to leave for the locker room.
Before the game, Point had scored 10 goals and 19 assists for 29 points in 36 games during the 2025-26 season.
Now in his 10th NHL season, the Calgary native has amassed 316 goals and 348 assists for 664 points in 693 regular-season games, all with Tampa Bay.
Point scored a career-high 51 goals in the 2022-2023 season and reached the 90-point mark three times, most recently in 2023-2024.
Drafted in the third round of the 2014 NHL Entry Draft, he was also a key player in the playoffs with 89 points in 92 postseason games.
Point was instrumental in the Lightning’s Stanley Cup championships in 2020 and 2021.
The Lightning entered Monday night with a 27-13-3 record, riding a nine-game winning streak and sitting second in the Atlantic Division.
