Hannah Dodd has spoken out about the introverted nature of her character Francesca Bridgerton.
In a new conversation with Schondalandthe actress was asked a rare question about her character, who “usually communicates calmly.”
The interviewer asked her, “In part two we see her pissed off and loud. What was that like for you to play with, Hannah?”
She started by saying that playing a more festive version of her character has been a long time coming: “It’s so fun because I think Francesca is a character who grew up in a busy household and has it in her to be louder.”
Although her character generally prefers to remain quiet, the actress noted that there is an edge beneath the surface.
“I just think a lot of times she wants a peaceful life. But I think she definitely has it in her – there’s some sarcasm in there, and it’s interesting to see who brings that out in her.”
“There are certain siblings who do that, but Michaela clearly brings it out in her. There’s so much going on inside her that it has to come out a little bit at some point.”
“And she’s fighting for her life that she’s already been quietly fighting for, so I like to see a little bit of a feistier side to her. Plus, she’s growing up. We all develop as we grow. She’s not an 18-year-old anymore,” she concluded.
