In season four of Bridgerton, Luke Thompson, who plays Benedict, takes center stage, and his chemistry with Sophie, played by Yerin Ha, is praised by critics.
But as the final season ended on an upbeat note, the actor was asked if his aristocratic character would return in season five.
“I don’t know. We’ll see. That’s beyond my paycheck. It would be nice to see them have kids and also just be part of the family. They’re actually both characters who have nice hotlines for all the characters on the show, so I hope they still communicate with the siblings,” he tells The Hollywood Reporter.
His co-star Ha also weighs in: “Or feeling like they can lean on one of us.”
Season four is based on Bridgerton’s third novel, An Offer from a Gentleman. In this story, Benedict, a high-ranking nobleman, meets a beautiful but mysterious woman, Sophie Beckett, at a masquerade ball.
He falls in love with her at first sight, despite being unaware of her true identity. But as the show progresses, it turns out that Sophie is no ordinary woman, but the daughter of a deceased count.
