Victor Alli has reflected on the death of his character John Stirling Bridgerton season 4.
In a new conversation with Shondaland, Alli claimed that while John Stirling’s death was a heartbreaking turn of events, it was also an essential part of the show’s emotional architecture.
The actor began, “It was, but it’s part of the story, a great story, and it’s a catalyst for a lot of things that happen next, when you see Francesca and Michaela and how their characters intertwine and then come together in a way that helps them deal with death.”
Alli then explained why people may never see his character.
‘Because it’s a bit too much. I mean, he died. That’s enough. That’s already a lot. I think there was also a conversation about what was right for the show.”
Hannah Dodd interjected and said, “You know he’s there, and it’s been implied enough,” and they moved on to a new conversation.
