Britney Spears is looking for connection but struggles to maintain a bond with friends.

The 44-year-old singer, who was recently arrested for drunken driving by highway patrol in Ventura, California, late in the evening of March 4 and briefly released the next morning, reportedly wants to be with her friends.

Regarding her DUI case, officials reported that Spears was “driving erratically and at a high rate of speed.” After being stopped by police, she showed signs of “impairment and underwent a series of sobriety tests.”

After the arrest, Britney was “very emotional and remorseful” that morning.

California Highway Police said the case remains under investigation and chemical test results have yet to come.

Britney’s spokesperson called the arrest “an unfortunate incident that is completely inexcusable.”

“Britney is going to take the right steps and comply with the law and hopefully this can be the first step in the long overdue change that needs to happen in Britney’s life. Hopefully she can get the help and support she needs during this difficult time,” the statement from Spears’ rep said.
