The Premier League maximum record was praised by Bruno Fernandes, who broke all records in Sunday’s match.

Manchester United’s Bruno Fernandes broke the Premier League record for most assists in a season when he set up Patrick Dorgu to score against Brighton & Hove Albion.

The Manchester United playmaker took on the two challenging players on the final day of the 2025/26 season.

It follows on from Fernandes’ FWA Footballer of the Year award, which saw Arsenal star Declan Rice win the 31st year after excelling as the club achieved a top-three finish.

Fernandes had already equaled the record of 20 assists, shared by Arsenal’s Thierry Henry and Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne, but now the football star stands alone as the player with the most assists in a single Premier League season, after notching his 21st of the season against Brighton.

The assist record has been a great individual campaign for Fernandes, who played a key role in Manchester United’s UEFA Champions League finish.

The star was named Premier League Player of the Season, becoming the first Manchester United player to win the award since Nemanja Vidic in the 2010/11 season.
