Fans have several favorites in the insanely popular series Break bad. But perhaps the character they hated the most was Skyler White, played by Anna Gunn.
Now, years later, Skylar White’s on-screen husband Bryan Cranston is throwing his support behind the character.
His defensive comments drew criticism, Frankie Muniz took aim at Skylar while making an appearance Hot with the Emmy winner to promote the reboot of Malcolm in the Middle: Life’s Still Unfair.
He gave a stark opinion of the character, saying, “Can I tell you an honest truth?”
He continued, “I loved Breaking Bad. Obviously, everyone in the entire world loved it. I wanted to kill Skyler to make your life easier. Your life would have been so much easier. You were such a bad guy. You could have just gotten rid of her!”
These highly opinionated comments prompted Cranston to defend his co-star Gunn.
“Look, she got a lot of flak for that,” the actor responded, adding, “First of all, Anna Gunn is a great actor, but she got, ‘Oh, why don’t you get off his back?’
He added, “Wait a minute, let me understand this. Her husband leaves without any explanation. She’s pregnant. He makes crystal methamphetamine and people have died and she’s the bitch? We couldn’t understand it.’
Although Gunn’s portrayal of Skylar White earned the scorn of fans, critics praised her performance Bad breaking, which is streaming on Netflix.
