‘Buck Rogers’ actor Gil Gerard breathes his last at the age of 82

Gil Gerard, best known for playing the eponymous space hero in the hit TV series from 1979-81 Buck Rogershas died. He was 82.

The wife of the veteran actor, Janet Gerard, announced the death of her beloved husband on social media.

“Early this morning, Gil – my soulmate – lost his battle with a rare and viciously aggressive form of cancer,” Janet wrote on Facebook alongside a carousel of photos of her and the Bone eater actor.

She continued: ‘From the moment we knew something was wrong to his death this morning it was just a few days.’

“No matter how many years I got to spend with him, it would have been enough someday. Hold the ones you have tight and love them dearly,” Janet added.

Later, Janet also posted her husband’s latest message on social media.

“My life has been an amazing journey. The opportunities I have had, the people I have met and the love I have given and received have made my 82 years on this planet very fulfilling,” the post said.

“My journey has taken me from Arkansas to New York to Los Angeles, and finally to my home in North Georgia with my wonderful wife of 18 years, Janet. It has been an amazing ride, but inevitably one that is coming to an end just like mine.”

Gil was born in January 1943 and was last seen in the 2016 film Surge of Power: Revenge of the Sequel.
