Tiger Woods has been attracting attention lately for his shocking car accident, which, although he is unhurt, has raised questions about his personal conduct.
As a result, the authorities who reached the incident site at the time suspected that the golf legend was driving under the influence.
Although the golf icon denied using any substance, he simultaneously refused to take a urine test to confirm his story.
Now, a Martin County sheriff’s deputy wrote in a statement that Woods was found with two opioid pills.
Painting a grim picture of the scene, he writes that the golf legend had “bloodshot, glassy eyes,” “extremely dilated pupils” and was “sweating profusely” despite being in the air-conditioned car.
“Woods’ movement was lethargic and slow,” he wrote. “Woods had hiccups throughout the entire investigation.”
He continues: “I asked Woods if he was using any illegal substances, but he said no,” the deputy said. “I asked Woods if he drank any alcoholic beverages today and he said, ‘none.’”
“I asked Woods if he was taking any prescription drugs, and he said, ‘I’m taking some,’” the deputy noted.
But during the search, police found ‘two white pills’ in his pocket; reportedly are hydrocodone, an opioid drug.
“I asked Woods if he had any medical conditions,” he wrote. “Woods said he has had seven back surgeries and more than 20 leg surgeries.”
Woods, meanwhile, was arrested on charges of drunk driving, property damage and refusal to obey a law.
