Catherine O’Hara talked about her most favorite role before her sad passing.

As fans know, O’Hara passed away on January 30, 2026 at the age of 71.

In February 2024, Catherine O’Hara shared that the role she hoped would be remembered by most had nothing to do with acting.

According to TMZ, the beloved actress was asked about her favorite role of all time during an interview. Instead of naming one of her iconic characters, O’Hara made it clear that her proudest work was being the “mother of my children.”

When the interviewer clarified that he meant her acting roles, O’Hara cheekily gestured to her husband and joked, “His wife,” showing off her trademark humor.

It is remarkable that the Home alone The star kept her family life largely out of the spotlight before her death, consistently prioritizing quality time with her loved ones over her career while raising her sons.

Recently, Macaulay Culkin wrote a heartfelt tribute to his late on-screen mother on his Instagram, along with a carousel of side-by-side photos of himself and O’Hara in Home Alone and in 2023.

‘Mom. I thought we had time,” he wrote.

‘I wanted more. I wanted to sit next to you in a chair. I heard you, but I had so much more to say,” he wrote.

‘I love you. I’ll see you later.’
