Chanel sheds crocodile and snake skin




Paris: Chanel has become the first luxury fashion house that turns its back on exotic animal tires such as lizard, crocodile and snake skin, in a movement praised by animal rights groups on Tuesday.

But in a statement, Chanel did not mention a fur and said it would no longer use crocodile, lizard, snake and stingray to make jackets, bags and shoes.

“The growth in fantastic luxury and environmentally friendly fibers that are not involved in the suffering and dying of animals helps to help this new era of ethical fashion ahead.

PETA also stacked the pressure on Vuitton, which is owned by fashion giant LVMH.

Although top modem brands have been under heavy pressure to refrain from fur, with Gucci, Armani, Versace and John Galliano who all decide to be fur, Chanel’s decision to stop using exotic skins came out of nowhere.

It said that it was now focusing on developing a new generation of “ultra luxurious” products to replace them with his famous design studios.

Animal rights campaigns against the use of crocodile and snake skin products do not have the same traction with the public as similar crusades against coat, with some luxury brands even investing in reptile farms, so that they can guarantee that skins come ethically.
