Charli XCX issued a statement on Thursday after coming under criticism for attending a party in Berlin that claimed Russian ties.
The singer took to her Instagram Story to share a short statement. “To be clear, neither I nor my team were aware of any alleged links with the party in Berlin.”
The singer added: “I would like to take this opportunity to say that I stand against the atrocities committed by the Russian government in Ukraine and that I stand in solidarity with the people of Ukraine.
Charli XCX made the clarification after facing backlash on social media.
The controversy came days after she released her new album “Wuthering Heights,” written for Emerald Fennell’s latest feature film, starring Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi.
